The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has directed political appointees serving under President Bola Tinubu’s administration to actively mobilise support for the ruling party or relinquish their appointments.
Speaking during a party engagement, Prof. Yilwatda said political appointments come with the responsibility of advancing the ideals, programmes and electoral fortunes of the APC, stressing that appointees cannot afford to remain indifferent while benefiting from the party’s platform.
He maintained that those occupying positions in government through the APC must demonstrate unwavering commitment to strengthening the party at all levels, particularly ahead of future political contests.
According to him, every political appointee is expected to serve as an ambassador of the party by engaging grassroots supporters, promoting the administration’s policies and consolidating public confidence in the APC-led government.
Prof. Yilwatda warned that individuals unwilling to identify with or mobilise for the ruling party should voluntarily resign from their positions, insisting that government appointments should not be separated from party loyalty and political responsibility.
The APC chairman also urged party faithful to remain united and focused, saying sustained mobilisation and internal cohesion would be critical to the party’s continued electoral success and the implementation of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
His remarks come as the ruling party intensifies efforts to strengthen its structures nationwide and rally support ahead of forthcoming political activities.
