The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has postponed its presidential and governorship screening exercises, citing growing insecurity across parts of northern Nigeria.

In a brief announcement, the party said the exercises, initially scheduled to hold earlier, have now been shifted to Monday due to security concerns affecting movement and logistics in several northern states.

The development comes amid renewed concerns over instability and violent attacks in parts of the region, which have continued to disrupt political activities and public gatherings ahead of critical electoral processes.

While the party did not specify the exact locations affected, the postponement underscores the broader security challenges confronting Nigeria’s political landscape as parties intensify preparations for upcoming elections.

ADC said a new timetable has been communicated to aspirants and party stakeholders, expressing hope that the exercise would proceed smoothly under improved conditions.
