Fresh reports indicate that Nafi’u Bala, who claims leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), is expected to withdraw a court case he filed earlier this week.
The development follows a closed-door meeting involving community elders from Gombe State and members of Bala’s family, in what sources describe as a move aimed at easing rising political tensions.
According to the report, the delegation was led by Musa Garba, who, alongside other elders, met with Bala’s parents to press for the withdrawal of the case “in the interest of public peace”.
Efforts to reach Bala during the meeting were unsuccessful, as he reportedly did not respond to phone calls placed to him by the delegation.
However, one of his parents confirmed that they would immediately get in touch with him to relay the outcome of the discussions, signalling a possible de-escalation in the dispute surrounding the party’s leadership.
While there has been no official confirmation from Bala himself, the expected withdrawal could mark a significant turn in the unfolding legal and political tensions within the ADC.
