Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu holds the people of Kaduna State in high regard, citing the Federal Government’s approval of an $865 million light rail project for the state as evidence of the President’s commitment to its development.
Speaking on Tuesday during the flag-off of the reconstruction of the 122-kilometre Kaduna–Birnin Gwari Road, a project valued at ₦178.12 billion, the governor said President Tinubu’s administration has continued to prioritise critical infrastructure capable of transforming the state’s economy and improving the lives of residents.
According to Governor Sani, President Tinubu approved the $865 million light rail project for the Kaduna metropolitan area on 8 July, describing the decision as a clear demonstration of the President’s “special respect and love” for the people of Kaduna State.
He noted that the rail project, alongside the reconstruction of the Kaduna–Birnin Gwari Road, reflects the Federal Government’s determination to bridge infrastructure deficits, enhance connectivity, stimulate economic growth and improve security across the state.
Governor Sani expressed appreciation to the President for what he described as sustained support for Kaduna, adding that the administration remains committed to ensuring that development projects are delivered for the benefit of the people.
The reconstruction of the Kaduna–Birnin Gwari Road is expected to improve transportation, facilitate trade and ease the movement of commuters and goods along one of the state’s strategic corridors.
