Celebrity barman Pascal Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest, has explained his absence from Davido and Chioma’s wedding in Miami, Florida, saying long-standing visa problems kept him from travelling.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, the businessman said he woke up with “mixed feelings” joy for the couple but disappointment over missing the celebration.

“Sometimes, God has a way of making you understand that you are powerless regardless of all you may think you have,” he wrote, sharing a video from Davido’s traditional wedding in Lagos in 2024.

Addressing critics, Cubana Chief Priest said, “I appreciate the bashing because that has given me multiple reasons and proofs to apply again.” He also appealed directly to the United States Embassy in Nigeria to approve his application.

“You can clearly see how disappointed and hurt the world is to see me absent at my best friend’s wedding. You need to give me access to get my fat ass into America. Well, delay is never denial — CP is still hopeful,” he said.

The businessman added that his wife and family were present at the Miami wedding to represent him. “The largest part of me, which is my family, my beautiful, elegant, expensive, eloquent and sophisticated wife, is there to share in this luxury blissful experience. So I’m there in body and spirit,” he wrote.

He said he will reapply for a visa next week, urging, “Please give me access to the greatest country in the world. This pain is really paining.”

Speaking earlier in January on Channels TV’s Rubbin’ Minds, Cubana Chief Priest disclosed that errors made on his first visa application years ago have remained on the US immigration system, leading to repeated denials.

“Somebody filled out my form when I was much younger and was trying to get into America. Some mistakes were coming up during interviews. Anytime I came, it kept popping up,” he said.
