Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has dismissed two Senior Special Assistants over separate cases of misconduct, while clearing another aide of allegations.
The Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ibrahim, announced the decision on Saturday.
According to the statement, Abubakar Umar Sharada, Senior Special Assistant on Political Mobilisation, was sacked after an investigative committee found him culpable in the controversial bail of a drug suspect, Sulaiman Aminu Danwawu.
“The committee confirmed his role through his own testimony,” the statement read. Sharada has been directed to return all government property in his possession by Monday, 11 August, and warned not to present himself as a public officer.
Tasiu Adamu Al’amin Roba, Senior Special Assistant in the Cabinet Office, was also dismissed following his arrest over the alleged rebagging of palliative grains in Sharada in 2024. He is currently facing trial for theft and criminal conspiracy.
In contrast, Special Adviser on Drainages, Musa Ado Tsamiya, was cleared of wrongdoing after an investigative panel affirmed his innocence.
Governor Yusuf restated his commitment to transparency and zero tolerance for corruption. “All public officials must uphold the highest standards of integrity in both official and private conduct,” the statement warned.
