Senator Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Gubernatorial Candidate in Kogi State, today announced his immediate resignation from the party at all levels of involvement. Melaye cited a deep-seated concern over the party’s perceived “lack of potency and capacity” to address the pervasive issues facing Nigeria.

In a statement issued this morning, Senator Melaye articulated that his decision was “imperative due to the lack of potency and capacity by the party to deliver the Nigerian people from the prevailing political cankerworms that have eaten deeply into the fabric of our dear nation.”
He further stated, “Having carefully reflected on the state of the party, I can no longer in good conscience participate in the activities of the parties or lend my support to her agenda.”

Effective immediately, Senator Melaye’s withdrawal from the PDP signifies his formal disassociation from all party activities. He concluded his statement by thanking the party for the opportunity to serve under its platform during his period of membership.
