President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday held separate closed-door meetings with the Governors of Oyo and Plateau states, Seyi Makinde and Caleb Mutfwang, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Although details of the discussions were not immediately disclosed, the engagements are understood to be part of the President’s ongoing consultations with state governors on key national and subnational issues.
Governor Makinde was the first to meet with the President, followed by Governor Mutfwang, with both meetings taking place at the State House. Sources at the Villa indicated that the talks likely touched on governance, security, economic development and federal–state collaboration.
The meetings come amid heightened efforts by the Tinubu administration to strengthen cooperation with state governments as it advances its reform agenda and addresses pressing challenges across the country.
Neither the Presidency nor the governors’ offices issued an official statement at the time of filing this report.
