Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has told President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that US President Donald Trump wants him gone.
The warning follows Trump’s move to topple Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
In a statement signed Sunday by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele said Trump has already “caged” Tinubu and aims to finish the job by forcing him out of office.
He claims America’s security help to Nigeria is simply a back-door route into the government.

“Trump is determined to remove President Tinubu. America will be among those working against him. You may not see it yet, but that’s what I’m shown—Trump wants Tinubu out, full stop.”
The cleric adds that, even with US assistance, insecurity will persist, because Trump’s real goal is regime change, not peace.
“Nigeria will keep battling insecurity, but whether progress is made or not, Trump’s focus is pushing Tinubu aside. He hasn’t realised it yet. Ending insecurity isn’t Trump’s aim; he knows exactly what he wants and won’t quit.”
Ayodele urged the president to make a bold political move to break free from Trump’s trap; otherwise the plan will succeed.
“Tinubu must take bold action to beat Trump’s scheme—he’s already boxed in. He can’t relax; he needs fresh strategy, or he’ll lose and his downfall will be celebrated.”
