Zenith Bank Launches Maiden Girl-Child Empowerment Programme

Zenith Bank Plc is set to roll out its inaugural Girl-Child Empowerment Programme, designed to provide young girls with mentorship, practical career guidance, and leadership skills.

Themed **“Banking On Her Tomorrow,”** the virtual event will hold on Monday, October 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., aligning with the global observance of the International Day of the Girl Child.

The initiative is spearheaded by Zenith Bank’s Group Managing Director/CEO, Dame Dr. Adaora Umeoji, OON—the first female GMD/CEO in the bank’s history and an advocate for female education and leadership.

Designed as an annual platform, the event will feature industry experts who will share practical perspectives on education, skills development, and career growth, helping participants make informed decisions about their future.

The new programme expands Zenith Bank’s existing portfolio of gender-focused initiatives. These include the Z-Woman capacity-building framework for female entrepreneurs, the Zenith Women’s Basketball League, the Pad-a-Queen Initiative, and the Women of Honour Awards organized in partnership with the Ford Foundation.

The event is open to young girls, parents, educators, and the general public. Interested participants can register online or follow the live stream across Zenith Bank’s social media channels.
