The son of Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike, has denied involvement in an alleged $2.1 million land transaction in Abuja, telling a High Court that the signature on a document linking him to the deal was forged.
Jordan, a lawyer, made the claim during proceedings before Justice Sylvanus Oriji of the FCT High Court in a suit filed by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited. The claimants allege that Jordan agreed to facilitate the acquisition of 30 hectares of land each in Katampe and Guzape and received $2.1 million in cash for the transaction.
During cross-examination, Jordan denied receiving any money from the claimants and said he had never entered into a land deal with them. He also denied knowing an individual identified as Onor Sandy, whom the claimants alleged accompanied him during the purported transaction.
Jordan further told the court that he was outside Nigeria on September 26, 2025, when the claimants alleged that the money was handed over to him. He maintained that the signature appearing on the alleged acknowledgement of payment was not his.
The court had previously ordered Jordan to produce his American passport after the claimants questioned his whereabouts on the date of the alleged payment. He subsequently presented a photocopy of the passport, undertaking to produce the original if required.
The claimants maintain that they paid the money to facilitate the acquisition of the properties and later demanded a refund after allegedly discovering that the land was not available as represented. Jordan, however, has rejected the allegations and described the claims as an attempt to implicate him and extort money.
The case, marked CV/008/2026, has been adjourned until December 1, 2 and 14, 2026, for continuation of proceedings.
