Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has urged his supporters to maintain composure amidst recent political discourse, assuring them that the time for active political engagement is yet to come. Speaking at the 7th anniversary of Eze Cassidy Ikegbidi’s kingship installation—a notable politician-turned-traditional ruler of the Akoh people in Ahoada East Local Government Area—Governor Fubara emphasized patience and divine guidance.

Governor Fubara stated, “Let’s ignore the noise some people are making. When the time is right, we will know who is who.” He reassured the people, “It is God that has led us from that day till today, and each day we get stronger and stronger. It is only God.”

Highlighting his administration’s resilience, the governor attributed its strength and survival to divine providence, despite opposition from detractors. He encouraged the Akoh community to foster peace, asserting that development thrives in a harmonious environment. “Development cannot come to your kingdom and the Ekpeye Ethnic Nationality without peace. There will be many attempts to bring disunity among you. Try as much as you can to avoid it,” he advised.

Governor Fubara praised the traditional ruler, Eze Cassidy Ikegbidi, for his steadfast support and contributions to the administration’s success. “My coming to Akoh Kingdom is to show support to one of our own, a man who has decided to join the good side of history. A man who has endured punishment because of this struggle, yet still stood his ground,” he remarked.

As a gesture of appreciation and commitment to good governance, Governor Fubara approved a request for road construction in the area, reinforcing his dedication to improving the lives of Rivers State residents.
