United Nigeria Airlines and Max Air recorded the highest number of flight cancellations in the third quarter of 2025, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has disclosed.
According to the regulator’s newly released Q3 2025 Flight Delay and Cancellation Report, cancellation figures for both airlines stood above those of other domestic carriers during the period under review, covering July to September.
United Nigeria Airlines posted a cancellation rate of 0.63 per cent in Q3 2025, a slight improvement from the 0.70 per cent recorded in the same quarter of 2024. Despite the marginal drop, it remained the carrier with the highest rate of cancelled flights for the period.
Max Air also featured prominently on the cancellation list, with the NCAA noting that both airlines accounted for the bulk of disruptions faced by passengers during the quarter.
The data forms part of the NCAA’s ongoing efforts to enhance transparency, strengthen regulatory oversight and ensure airlines uphold industry standards, particularly regarding passenger rights and operational reliability.
The authority said it would continue to monitor airline performance while engaging operators to improve service delivery across the sector.
