The United Kingdom has formally acknowledged significant security improvements in Kaduna State, moving the state from the “Red” no-go category to “Amber”, thereby permitting British citizens to travel to the area.
The announcement was made by Cynthia Rowe, Development Director of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), during the signing of the new Kaduna Mutual Accountability Framework (KaMAF) with Governor Uba Sani.

Rowe explained that Kaduna had been on the UK’s high-risk list since 2022, but was now reclassified following the governor’s sustained efforts to tackle insecurity across the state.
Governor Sani hailed the development as a strong endorsement of his administration’s peace and security initiatives. He noted that the UK Government’s recognition not only reflects the progress made in restoring stability but also sends a powerful signal to international investors that Kaduna is safe and open for business.
