The Federal Ministry of Education has announced the full automation of its academic credential authentication and evaluation processes, marking a major step toward greater transparency, improved data management, and more efficient public service delivery.
This was disclosed in a statement on Thursday in Abuja by Folasade Boriowo, Director of Press and Public Relations at the ministry.
According to Boriowo, the move aligns with the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda, which seeks to leverage modern technology to boost operational efficiency, safeguard data integrity, and support evidence-based policymaking within the education sector.
She confirmed that all applications for credential authentication and evaluation will now be processed exclusively online through the ministry’s official verification portal.
Applicants seeking these services are required to register and submit relevant supporting documents via the following email address: [email protected].
Boriowo further advised applicants to contact their respective awarding institutions and request that academic transcripts be forwarded directly from official institutional email addresses to [email protected] for verification and processing.
She emphasized that physical visits to the ministry are no longer necessary, as the entire process will be conducted electronically.
The transition to a fully automated platform, she noted, is expected to simplify procedures, reduce processing times, and significantly strengthen the integrity and credibility of academic credential verification in Nigeria.
