President Bola Tinubu has issued a firm warning that his administration will intensify operations against all forms of armed criminality across the country, declaring that those who perpetrate or sponsor violence “will be pursued without exception.”

Speaking in a strong policy statement, the President listed a wide range of groups that will come under renewed security pressure, including bandits, militias, armed gangs, armed robbers, violent cult groups, forest-based armed networks and foreign-linked mercenaries.

“Bandits, militias, armed gangs, armed robbers, violent cults, forest-based armed groups and foreign-linked mercenaries will all be targeted,” President Tinubu stated. “We will go after all those who perpetrate violence for political or sectarian ends, along with those who finance and facilitate their evil schemes.”

The President emphasised that his administration’s security agenda aims not only to neutralise threats but also to dismantle the support systems that enable organised violence, including financial backers, logistics suppliers and local collaborators.

According to the Presidency, the renewed security push is part of a broader national stabilisation strategy designed to protect communities, restore confidence and strengthen the rule of law.

Security agencies are expected to roll out new coordinated operations in the coming weeks, with a focus on intelligence-driven action and inter-agency collaboration.

The President reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding citizens, insisting that no criminal network—local or foreign-backed—will be allowed to endanger Nigeria’s peace and unity.
