President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday arrived in Kebbi State to commission the newly completed state secretariat complex, marking a significant milestone in the state’s public infrastructure drive.

The president touched down in Birnin Kebbi to a warm reception by top government officials, traditional rulers and supporters, as security was tightened across the capital for the high-profile event.

Speaking shortly after unveiling the complex, President Tinubu praised the Kebbi State Government for prioritising institutional development, noting that efficient governance depends on functional workspaces and modern public facilities.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting subnational governments through policies aimed at boosting infrastructure, economic growth and service delivery, stressing that development must be people-centred and inclusive.

Kebbi State Governor and other dignitaries described the secretariat as a major step towards improving administrative efficiency, saying the project would enhance coordination among ministries, departments and agencies while providing a more conducive environment for civil servants.

The commissioning formed part of the president’s official visit to the state, during which he is expected to hold closed-door meetings with key stakeholders on security, agriculture and regional development before departing later today.
