President Bola Tinubu humorously confessed on Monday that he deliberately avoided watching the recent Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) final live to safeguard his blood pressure, citing the intense tension of the match.
Receiving the victorious Super Falcons at the Presidential Villa, President Tinubu shared his personal struggle with the nail-biting encounter. “I didn’t want to watch the match initially because I don’t want high blood pressure,” he admitted. He recounted learning of the Super Falcons’ triumph from his wife. “My wife was cooking my food in the kitchen, rushed out to tell me we have won.”
The Super Falcons, Nigeria’s senior women’s national football team, clinched their 10th WAFCON title by defeating Morocco 3-2 in a thrilling final. This victory further solidified their dominance in African women’s football.
