Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has approved a N2 billion relief package for victims of the March 29 attack in Angwa Rukuban, Jos, following a high-level meeting with stakeholders from Plateau State.
The decision came after talks held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where political, traditional and religious leaders gathered to address the aftermath of the violence.
Among those present were Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.
Former governors of the state also attended, including Simon Lalong, Jonah Jang, Joshua Dariye and Fidelis Tapgun.
Traditional and religious leaders were represented by Mohammed Haruna, Da John Putmang Hirse and Dunka Gomwalk.
Other attendees included retired military officials and political figures such as Samuel Atukum, Naanlong Gapyil Daniel, Pauline Tallen and JD Wuyep.
The relief package is aimed at supporting victims and communities affected by the attack, as authorities continue efforts to stabilise the region and prevent further violence.
