Reality television star and entrepreneur Natacha Akide, widely known as Tacha, has successfully completed her ambitious 24-hour Guinness World Record attempt for the most makeovers performed within a single day.

The media personality concluded the marathon session at 8:30pm on Sunday at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture & History in Lagos, the same venue where she launched the challenge on Saturday.

Despite encountering brief technical difficulties, including a minor power outage during the early hours of the attempt, Tacha remained resolute and maintained a steady pace throughout the gruelling challenge. By the end of the 24-hour period, she had completed transformations on 145 models, comprising both men and women.

The Observer Times had earlier reported that the reality star faced these technical setbacks, but her determination proved unwavering as she worked through each makeover with precision and speed.

The diverse group of models included prominent personalities such as influencer Mitchy, former Big Brother Naija housemate Venita Akpofure, and the twin duo Wanni and Handi. The selection represented various body types and skin tones, demonstrating Tacha’s versatility and ability to perform under immense pressure.

Each model’s transformation was carefully documented with professional headshots and runway presentations as part of the Tacha Beauty Festival, which served as the backdrop for the record-breaking attempt.

The event drew significant support from Nigeria’s entertainment industry, with numerous celebrities, influencers and public figures turning up to witness the historic moment. The star-studded attendance list included Alex Unusual, media personality Toke Makinwa, beauty entrepreneur Dabota Lawson, Soma Anyama, musician Slimcase, rapper Ice Prince, social media sensation Egungun of Lagos, and Idris Aregbe, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture.

Tacha, who rose to national prominence following her participation in Big Brother Naija Season 4, now awaits official confirmation from Guinness World Records. The organisation will verify the attempt and review all documentation before declaring her an official record holder.

Speaking about her motivation for the record-breaking attempt, the entrepreneur revealed that her ambition was driven by a desire to celebrate creativity, consistency and the strength of Nigerian women in the global beauty industry.

The successful completion of the 24-hour challenge marks another milestone in Tacha’s post-reality television career, further cementing her position as a force in Nigeria’s beauty and entertainment sectors.
