Sokoto State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu, has declared that banditry will soon become a thing of the past in the state, assuring residents that his administration is intensifying security efforts to reclaim all vulnerable communities.
Speaking during a public engagement in Sokoto on Tuesday, the governor described the ongoing security operations as “decisive and relentless,” noting that the state government is working closely with federal security agencies to dismantle criminal networks responsible for attacks in the region.
Governor Aliyu expressed confidence that recent strategic deployments and intelligence-driven operations would yield lasting results.
“Banditry will soon become history in Sokoto State,” he said, adding that his administration remains fully committed to restoring peace, protecting lives, and ensuring that displaced residents can return safely to their homes.
He further appealed to communities to cooperate with security operatives by providing credible information that could aid ongoing operations.
The governor reaffirmed that security remains his top priority, stressing that Sokoto would not relent until peace and stability are fully restored across all local government areas.
