A group of constituents from Edo South Senatorial District has officially submitted a petition to recall Senator Neda Imasuen, their representative in the Nigeria Senate
The petitioners accuse the lawmaker of playing a controversial role in the ongoing dispute involving Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
The petition was signed by a significant number of voters from Edo South and addressed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The constituents claim that Senator Imasuen’s actions have been against their collective interest, particularly in relation to his involvement in matters concerning Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan.
The petitioners argue that Senator Imasuen has failed to adequately represent their concerns and has instead taken positions that undermine their expectations.
They insist that his role in the controversy surrounding Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan is unacceptable and justifies his recall from the Senate.
The move to recall Senator Imasuen follows a series of political tensions in Edo State, with stakeholders expressing dissatisfaction over his recent engagements.
The petitioners emphasize that they will continue to push for his removal through the appropriate legal and electoral channels.
INEC is expected to review the petition and determine the next steps in accordance with Nigeria’s electoral laws
