The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has commissioned a new zonal directorate in Akwa Ibom State as part of efforts to expand its operations and strengthen the fight against economic and financial crimes in the region.

The new directorate is expected to improve the commission’s operational capacity and bring its services closer to residents and institutions within Akwa Ibom and neighbouring states.

The development is part of the EFCC’s broader efforts to enhance its presence across the country and tackle financial crimes, including fraud, money laundering and other forms of economic misconduct.

Officials at the commissioning said the new facility would support more effective investigations and enforcement, while also deepening collaboration between the commission and relevant stakeholders in the state.

The EFCC has continued to expand its operational reach as it intensifies its campaign against corruption and financial crimes across Nigeria.
