President Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, received the leadership of the Senate at his Lagos residence as part of activities marking the Eid el-Kabir celebrations.
The delegation was led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and included Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, and Senators Solomon Adeola and Abdulaziz Yari, among others.
The visit was disclosed by the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Olusegun Dada, via a post on his X (formerly Twitter) handle.
Dada wrote, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received the Senate leadership in an audience during their Sallah homage visit to him in Lagos. The delegation was led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and included Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, Senator Solomon Adeola, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, and other senators.”
The homage follows the President’s participation in the Eid prayers on Wednesday at the Dodan Barracks in Ikoyi, where he joined thousands of Muslim faithful to mark the festive period.
