Retired Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, has issued a summons to Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Deputy Governor Dr. Ngozi Ordu to appear before him for questioning.
The summons, detailed in a public announcement by the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, requires both Fubara and Ordu to appear in person at the Rivers State Government House in Port Harcourt on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 10 a.m.
According to Worika, the summons is part of an official inquiry into appointments made by Governor Fubara during his tenure. The Sole Administrator has directed Fubara to present comprehensive documentation and records pertaining to these appointments, including the reasoning and processes behind them.
The inquiry will also provide an opportunity for the suspended governor to explain why he believes he should be reinstated to office, the announcement stated.
The notice emphasizes that attendance is mandatory and is part of what the Sole Administrator describes as a broader effort to restore transparency, accountability, and lasting peace to the governance of Rivers State.
