The former presidential aide and prominent social media personality, Reno Omokri, is facing a public firestorm after his first wife, Tuokpe Onuwaje, took to Facebook to accuse him of abandoning their son with special needs.
In a scathing post on Monday, Onuwaje claimed that Omokri has not seen their son since June 2024, a period of over a year. She alleged that the boy, who requires constant care and attention, has been left waiting for his father to provide consistent and meaningful interaction, a stark contrast to what she described as the “fleeting visits” he makes to his other children.

“Stop showing up just for photo ops—show up for real life,” Onuwaje wrote, calling out her ex-husband for what she sees as a focus on public image over genuine fatherhood. “Our son with special needs is waiting for quality time with his dad, not just the fleeting visits you do with his siblings. You haven’t seen nor spent time with your son since June 2024! Over a year!”
Onuwaje’s post served as a direct plea for Omokri to prioritize his responsibilities as a father over his public persona.

She emphasized that “real parenting happens in the everyday moments, not just in staged photos,” and urged him to “put down the camera” and be a constant, involved figure in their son’s life.
The public accusation has reignited scrutiny of Omokri’s personal life and his public advocacy for family values, with many on social media questioning the sincerity of his online persona in light of his former wife’s claims.
