First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has called for the recruitment of more qualified teachers and greater investment in their professional development.
In her message to mark the 2025 World Teachers’ Day in Abuja, themed “Focusing on the Global Teacher Shortage,” Mrs Tinubu described teaching as one of society’s noblest callings that deserves renewed attention and respect.
She emphasised the need to address the teacher shortage urgently by empowering educators and encouraging more people to join the profession.
“Teachers are true heroes—shaping minds, nurturing dreams, and guiding generations. As a lifelong teacher myself, I salute you all on this special day,” she said.
