President Bola Tinubu has relieved Fegho John Umunubo of his duties as Special Assistant on Digital and Creative Economy, an appointment linked to Vice President Kashim Shettima’s office.

The decision takes immediate effect, with the State House making it clear that Umunubo no longer holds any official capacity or represents the administration in any form.

A statement from the Director of Information and Public Relations at the State House, Abiodun Oladunjoye, cautioned all stakeholders involved in Nigeria’s digital and creative sectors both domestically and internationally—against engaging with Umunubo as a government representative.

“Anyone dealing with Mr Umunubo claiming to represent the Tinubu government does so entirely at their own risk,” the statement warned.

This termination underscores the administration’s determination to ensure proper accountability and authorised representation within Nigeria’s rapidly evolving digital economy.
