The Kogi State Police Command says it has recorded a significant breakthrough in its crackdown on drug trafficking after officers intercepted 339 wraps of suspected Indian hemp hidden inside a vehicle during a stop-and-search operation in Kabba.

Police authorities said the seizure was made during a routine security operation aimed at curbing the movement of illicit substances and criminal activities across the state.

According to the command, the suspected cannabis was carefully concealed in the vehicle in an apparent attempt to evade detection, but vigilant operatives uncovered the consignment during the inspection.

The development underscores growing efforts by security agencies to tackle drug-related crimes and disrupt trafficking networks operating within and beyond Kogi State.

Authorities have yet to disclose the identity of suspects linked to the seizure, while investigations are said to be ongoing.
