Aichatou El-Rufai, wife of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, has issued a pre-action notice to the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), demanding N2 billion in damages over alleged defamatory remarks made against her by the anti-graft agency.

In the notice, Aichatou accused the commission of making statements she described as false, damaging, and injurious to her reputation, warning that failure to retract the claims and offer compensation could result in legal action.

The development marks a fresh twist in the growing tensions surrounding investigations linked to the family of the former Kaduna governor, with the dispute now heading towards what could become a high-profile courtroom battle.

Neither the ICPC nor its chairman had publicly responded to the allegations at the time of filing this report.
