Former presidential candidate and Nigerian politician Peter Obi has strongly condemned the recent killings in Kwara State, describing the attacks as “unacceptable and deeply troubling.”

In a statement issued on Monday, Obi urged federal and state authorities to take decisive measures to curb the rising tide of violence and insecurity across the country. He called for swift investigations and accountability for those responsible, emphasising that citizens’ safety must be a top priority.

Obi’s remarks come amid growing concerns over escalating violence in parts of Nigeria, with communities calling for more effective security responses and preventive measures.

“Protecting lives and ensuring justice must be non-negotiable,” Obi stated, stressing that political leaders and security agencies have a duty to act decisively.
