Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has called for calm among members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), assuring that the internal crisis rocking the party at the national level will soon be resolved.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Wednesday in Osogbo, the governor described the disagreements within the party as a “family affair” and said efforts were already underway to restore unity and strengthen the PDP ahead of future elections.
“I urge all members of our party to remain calm and be steadfast,” Adeleke said. “We are cruising to victory next year, and we must remain committed to rebuilding this party for renewed landslide victory.”
He stressed that the leadership of the PDP at both national and state levels was working collectively to resolve all pending issues and reposition the party for electoral success.
“The ongoing disagreement within the party at the national level is a family affair, and I want to assure members at both state and national levels that it will soon be resolved. All stakeholders have the party’s progress and success at heart,” he added.
Adeleke, who has continued to emphasise reconciliation and internal cohesion since assuming office, also directed PDP leaders across wards and local governments in Osun to begin massive mobilisation ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
“I hereby direct all party leaders across wards and local governments to begin massive mobilisation for our party ahead of the 2026 governorship election. We are the party to beat, and we will come out stronger and better,” he said.
The governor’s statement comes amid growing concerns over divisions within the PDP following leadership tussles and factional disagreements at the national level.
Political observers say Adeleke’s appeal for calm reflects the need to maintain party unity in Osun, a key battleground state ahead of the 2026 governorship race.
The governor reaffirmed his confidence that the PDP would emerge stronger from its current challenges and retain its dominance both in Osun and nationally.
