Media personality and Arise Television anchor Rufai Oseni has expressed concern over the unfolding political developments in Osun State, saying the authorities acted too late to prevent the consequences of the controversy surrounding the state’s finances.

Speaking during a discussion on the issue, Oseni argued that although the decision to unfreeze the Osun State Government’s accounts eventually came, the action had little practical impact because the intended objective had already been achieved.

According to him, the prolonged restriction had already inflicted significant disruption on governance and public administration, making the reversal largely symbolic rather than corrective.

“The damage has already been done,” Oseni maintained, insisting that the delay had undermined the state’s ability to function effectively and raised fresh questions about the timing and implications of the decision.

His remarks come amid heightened political tensions in Osun State, where recent developments have continued to fuel public debate ahead of the state’s governorship election. The controversy has drawn reactions from political stakeholders and observers, with many calling for institutions to remain impartial and ensure that democratic processes are protected.

Oseni’s comments have since generated widespread discussion across social media, with supporters and critics offering contrasting views on the handling of the matter and its potential implications for the state’s political landscape.
