“No Yoruba Man Arrested” – Usman Says EFCC, ICPC Pick Targets by Tribe

Former NHIS boss Yusuf Usman has accused Nigeria’s anti-graft agencies of playing favourites. Speaking on Symfoni’s Naija Unfiltered, he said both the EFCC and ICPC are “selective” under President Bola Tinubu.

“We have not seen a single Yoruba man arrested by the EFCC,” Usman declared. “Aminu Tambuwal, myself, Abubakar Malami, Nasir El-Rufai—every one of us Fulani—have been picked up. Yorubas are treated like saints. People are watching.”

He added other names to underline the pattern, not to pronounce guilt. “Egbira man from Kogi, Yahaya Bello… Chris Ngige, Godwin Emefiele—we’re not judging them, we’re showing the trend.”

Usman also hinted that certain regions barely feel the heat. “Geographically, that’s not… you’re not far from clean. No, they’re saints. They’re safe.”

He tied the optics to agency heads: “The EFCC is headed by a Yoruba man, right? The DSS is headed by a Yoruba man. The ICPC is led by someone from the Northwest.”
