Preparations are underway for a major social event as the Minister of State for Defence and former Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, prepares to marry off nine of his children on the same day.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Abuja Central Mosque at 1:30 pm on February 6, 2026.
The news gained traction after an invitation card, featuring the Minister’s portrait and the names of the couples, began circulating on social media. The children listed for the ceremony are Ibrahim, Suraj, Safiya, Maryam, Aisha, Fahad, Muh’d, Nana Firdausi, and Farida.
Confirming the event to OBSERVERS TIMES on Saturday, the spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, Yusuf Idris, noted that the group includes five sons and four daughters.
“By the grace of God, the ceremony will be conducted at the Abuja Central Mosque on February 6,” Idris said. “As a member of the organizing committee, I can confirm that arrangements have reached an advanced stage to ensure a smooth and successful event.”
