Senator Sunday Karimi (Kogi West) has condemned the recent attacks and kidnappings of schoolchildren in Niger State, saying the incidents are the work of “mischief makers” seeking to tarnish the administration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

Karimi urged Nigerians to maintain faith in the federal government and highlighted President Tinubu’s commitment to protecting lives and property. He also called on state governments to establish Community Security Agencies to serve as the first line of defence and to complement national security efforts.

The senator stressed the importance of citizen participation in community defence and information-sharing with security agencies, saying local involvement is critical to preventing further attacks. He described the school abductions as part of a broader pattern of insecurity in the country, but expressed confidence that the perpetrators’ plans would fail.

Karimi reiterated that those behind the recent kidnappings—including the abduction of schoolgirls in Niger State—are attempting to discredit the Tinubu administration and appealed for unity and vigilance as security agencies work to secure affected communities.
