The Honourable Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, migrants and internally displaced persons Abuja, Hon. Aliyu Ahmed Tijjani, Friday commended the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board for accepting to a partnership on the improvement of education in the state. Represented by Hajiya Fatima Mamman Daura, Director, Internally Displaced Persons.

Tijjani made the commendation when he paid a courtesy call to the Executive Chairman, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, at the Board’s Headquarters, shendam road Lafia.

He said they were in the Board to familiarise themselves with the management of the board and to advocate support of the board to consider the resettlement at Pyanko village in Keffi local government area of Nasarawa State in its developmental policy, especially the deployment of teachers, provision of instructional materials and more classrooms blocks in the centre.

Tijjani, said the resettlement at Pyanko village features essential amenities which to include; police outpost, primary schools, market stalls, primary health care, worship centres( mosque and church) adding, that the initiative involved the resettlement of 50 household which was align with their mandate to provide sustainable solutions to person of concerns.

” They were confident that with the involvement of Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board will further demonstrate a shared commitment to safeguarding lives and empowering vulnerable populations” he said.

Responding, the Executive Chairman Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Hon. Muhammad Musa Dan’azimi ( Barayan Daddare), Represented by the Board Secretary, Hajiya Hashiya Ahmed, appreciated the Hon. Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, migrants and internally displaced persons Abuja, for their vision, commitment, and care in sitting the laudable project in Nasarawa State and assured Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, will continue to partner the commission and promise to send technical personnels of the board for onward action.
