The Nasarawa State Waste Management and Sanitation Authority (NASWAMSA) on Friday played host to a high-level business delegation from Dangote Sinotruk West Africa Ltd, in what is being described as a significant step toward strengthening private-sector collaboration in the state’s waste management drive.
The delegation, led by Mr. Adeola Adeyoku, was warmly received by the Director General of NASWAMSA, Hon. Mohammed Bello Isa, at the Authority’s headquarters in Karu.
In his welcome remarks, the Director General expressed his appreciation for the company’s visit and commended their interest in partnering with the state to enhance environmental health and sanitation.
Mr. Adeola Adeyoku,the representative of Dangote Sinotruk, conveyed the company’s gratitude for the warm reception and outlined the purpose of their visit to introduce and present their range of advanced waste management trucks for potential acquisition by the Authority.
He emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting states in meeting their waste evacuation and sanitation goals through the deployment of durable and efficient vehicular solutions.
In response, Hon. Mohammed Bello Isa acknowledged the relevance of the equipment showcased and noted that Nasarawa State, due to its unique topographical and urban development challenges, requires tailored waste management solutions.
He specifically requested a visibility tour of the company’s operational facility in Lagos, to enable a comprehensive assessment of their manufacturing capacity and equipment suitability before any formal proposal is presented.
Beyond vehicle acquisition, the Director General stressed the importance of building a sustainable partnership, urging Dangote Sinotruk to also explore investment opportunities in the area of waste recycling, which is a growing focus of the state’s environmental agenda.
He further highlighted the Authority’s pressing needs for Graders, Excavators, Road Sweeping Machines, and Open Trucks, tools that are critical in addressing the diverse terrain and sanitation demands across urban and semi-urban communities in the state.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing commitment to deepening engagement and working toward a mutually beneficial partnership that aligns with Nasarawa State’s vision for modern, integrated waste management.
