Former Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Adamu Abubakar (Rtd), Walin Lafia, was on Friday at the center of two major events in Nasarawa State, highlighting his growing grassroots presence and widespread support.
In Lafia, a large crowd gathered at Millionaires Quarters Junction for the official unveiling of a billboard in his honor.
The crested billboard, strategically located opposite the Police State CID, was donated by Engr. Jafar Usman and unveiled by the Dan Galadiman Lafia, Alhaji Dahiru Othman.
The event featured key figures from Adamu’s campaign team, including governorship campaign coordinator Alhaji Mohammed Sokoto (Jagaban) and women’s leader Hajiya Khadijat. Supporters hailed the gesture as a tribute to the former police chief’s leadership and a boost to his political momentum.
In his remarks, Usman emphasized the significance of the gesture, citing the exemplary leadership and developmental achievements of RTD. IGP Adamu during his tenure.
“This is my modest way of contributing to a greater cause,” Usman stated. “IGP Adamu deserves unwavering support as he charts a new path in his political journey”, he said.
Later in the day, IGP Adamu visited the Emir of Awe, Alhaji Isa Abubakar Umar III, as part of his ongoing familiarization tour across Nasarawa.
Welcomed by the Emir and traditional council members, the visit emphasized unity, respect for tradition, and community collaboration.
According to Adamu the visit is a continuation of his engagement with traditional institutions and underscores his vision for a peaceful and progressive Nasarawa built on mutual respect and inclusive leadership.
“These twin events not only reflect my enduring legacy in public service but also signal a strengthening of ties between leadership, tradition, and the people of Nasarawa State”, he said.
