Napoli is making a strategic move in the market as they seek a replacement for injured striker Romelu Lukaku. The Serie A champions have set their sights on Super Eagles forward, Tolu Arokodare, who has been impressing in the Belgian Jupiler League with Genk.
Arokodare, 24, had a stellar 2024/25 season, finishing as the league’s top scorer with 23 goals and seven assists in 45 appearances. His exceptional performances have drawn attention from several European clubs, though his move to a new team has yet to materialize.
Napoli manager Antonio Conte, in search of a talisman to fill Lukaku’s shoes, has added Arokodare to the list of potential replacements, alongside Manchester United’s Rasmus Højlund. According to Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Napoli has already reached out to Arokodare’s camp. Genk values the striker between €20 million and €25 million.
While Arokodare has started every match from the bench this season, his future with Genk seems uncertain. Genk’s manager, Thorsten Fink, recently remarked, “It’s money time for Tolu. The club simply has to sell,” hinting that the striker might be on his way out.
