Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, Pays Condolence Visit to Widow of Late Chief Patrick Adaba in Abuja

The Honourable Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, on Monday, April 7, 2025, paid a condolence visit to the widow and family of the late Chief Patrick Adaba, former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, at their residence in Abuja. He offered words of comfort, urging them to remain strong during this period of mourning.

In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Lizzy Okoji, Prince Audu described Chief Patrick Adaba as an honourable man and a distinguished politician, renowned for his selfless service, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the development of Kogi State. He noted that Chief Adaba’s contributions helped lay the foundation for the state’s progress in the current democratic era.

Prince Audu highlighted the personal and political bonds between the Adaba and Audu families, recalling Chief Adaba’s instrumental role in the success of his father, the late Prince Abubakar Audu, during his tenure as the second Executive Governor of Kogi State from May 29, 1999, to May 29, 2003.

“With a heavy heart, I have come to commiserate with you over the passing of our beloved father,” the Minister said. “Chief Patrick Adaba was not only a remarkable Deputy Governor but a true public servant who was deeply committed to the wellbeing of the people. His legacy remains visible across the state and will continue to inspire generations.”

He assured the bereaved family of the continued support and solidarity of the Audu family and the wider community who hold Chief Adaba in the highest regard.

“Once again, please accept the heartfelt condolences of myself and the entire Audu family. We pray that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings and grants him Aljanah Firdaus,” he added.

Chief Patrick Adaba served as Deputy Governor of Kogi State from 1999 to 2003 under the leadership of the late Prince Abubakar Audu. He passed away on May 10, 2025, at the age of 79 in Abuja.
