The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has directed its candidates not to travel outside Nigeria until after the 2027 general election.
The directive was announced on Friday by the Lagos State APC chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, during the inauguration of the Tinubu-Hamzat campaign council at the party secretariat in Ikeja.
Mr Ojelabi said the measure was intended to ensure that the party’s candidates remained available for campaign activities and other preparations ahead of the elections.
He urged party members and candidates to remain focused on the task of mobilising support for the APC as the 2027 elections approach.
The development comes as political parties across Nigeria begin preparations for the next general election, with the APC expected to intensify its campaign activities in Lagos, one of its key political strongholds.
The Tinubu-Hamzat campaign council is expected to coordinate the party’s activities and mobilisation efforts in the state ahead of the election.
The APC’s directive applies to its candidates in Lagos, with the party leadership seeking to maintain their presence and participation in its political activities until the conclusion of the 2027 polls.
