The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the Nigeria Police Force’s airport unit to launch a thorough investigation into renowned Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, following a reported altercation with airport staff.
In a statement issued by DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, the Inspector-General mandated an immediate and detailed inquiry to uncover the facts surrounding the incident. The probe aims to ensure justice is served with precision and fairness.
The statement read: “The Nigeria Police Force has received a formal complaint from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) regarding an alleged incident involving Mr Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, widely known as KWAM 1. He is accused of disorderly conduct that reportedly jeopardised the safe operation of an aircraft, breaching the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations 2023, following an incident on 5 August 2025 at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
“In response, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has directed the Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, to commence a comprehensive investigation into the matter. This will establish the circumstances of the regrettable incident and ensure justice is duly delivered.
“The Force reaffirms its commitment to maintaining safety and security within Nigeria’s aviation sector, pledging enhanced collaboration with stakeholders to uphold aviation security and strict adherence to aviation laws.”
