LOKOJA, Kogi State – A recent press briefing by Hon. Ali Atabor, Coordinator of the Kogi East Chapter of the GYB Voice Network 2023, has ignited a firestorm of criticism. Michael Samuel Idoko, a prominent Kogi-born socialist, has condemned the February 7th event in Lokoja as “insulting and disrespectful,” accusing Atabor of political opportunism and self-serving motives.
Idoko didn’t mince words, suggesting Atabor’s actions are driven by personal gain rather than a genuine concern for APC supporters in the state. He further claimed a disconnect between Atabor’s pronouncements and his own struggles with poverty, implying hypocrisy. The socialist also took aim at Atabor’s characterization of Hon. Austin Usman Okai, a PDP House of Representatives candidate, as a “failed politician,” calling the label hypocritical given Atabor’s perceived shortcomings.

“We were expecting an intelligent rejoinder from a man who claimed to be former NUJ chairman unfortunately he was too emotional and went personal”
The tone of the press briefing itself drew heavy criticism. Idoko likened Atabor’s behavior to that of a “bastard child” who disrespects his heritage, and even provocatively suggested Atabor might benefit from Electroconvulsive Therapy for a “brain resetting.”

The alleged money is for the local government administration aiming at stimulating the local Economy the allegation of such magnitude shouldn’t be wave aside by mere personal attack from a man of Ataboh age , unfortunately Ataboh action has confirmed that truly something is wrong with Kogi local government fund
