The Kano State House of Assembly has conducted a screening exercise for Murtala Sule Garo as part of the process to assume office as deputy governor of the state.

The exercise, held at the Assembly complex, forms part of the constitutional procedure required for the confirmation of a nominee to the state’s second-highest executive office.

Lawmakers reportedly assessed Garo’s credentials, experience, and suitability for the role during the session, which comes amid ongoing political developments in Kano State.

Further legislative steps are expected to follow the screening before a final decision is made on his confirmation.
