In a candid revelation, Alhaji Abdulmajid Dan Bilki Commander, a prominent politician and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano, has voiced his regret for campaigning in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 general election.
Speaking in a telephone interview with Daily Trust, Commander expressed disappointment in the President’s performance, indicating that he has failed to meet the expectations of many Nigerians who voted for him.
“It pains me to say this, but it is the truth, and the truth must be told. I am an active member of the APC, but I must acknowledge that the current administration has not delivered on its promises,” Commander stated, emphasizing that he has never felt such regret over any previous action.
Identifying himself as a voice for the masses, Commander extended an apology to the public for endorsing a government that has not fulfilled its commitments. “Nigerians are hungry and angry. Their security is not guaranteed, governance is lopsided, and many cannot afford two square meals a day,” he lamented.
