Former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Monday visited the Lagos office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), according to sources familiar with the development.
Officials within the anti-graft agency, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Okowa’s visit was connected to an ongoing investigation into allegations of financial misappropriation during his time in office.
While the EFCC has yet to issue an official statement on the matter, sources indicated that investigators are examining the management of public funds during the former governor’s administration.
The development comes as the commission continues to intensify its anti-corruption drive, with several former public officials facing scrutiny over the handling of state resources.
Further details are expected as investigations progress.
