Inter Milan could be on the verge of reopening talks with Atalanta over Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman following the recent transfer of Nicola Zalewski to Bergamo. The agreement to send Zalewski to Atalanta for €17 million signals an improved working relationship between the two Serie A clubs, potentially unlocking the stalled Lookman deal.

Despite having secured personal terms with Lookman, Inter Milan have grown frustrated as Atalanta remain reluctant to sanction the sale of the 27-year-old. “Lookman has shown a strong desire to join Inter, but the negotiations have hit a wall,” sources close to the club revealed. With the transfer window nearing its close, this renewed goodwill from the Zalewski agreement could be Inter’s last opportunity to finalise the acquisition.

The Nigerian international has long been a priority target for Inter throughout the summer, but interest reportedly shifted towards other players, including Christopher Nkunku, after previous efforts stalled. Now, there is cautious optimism that the Zalewski transfer might pave the way to revive talks and bring Lookman to Milan.
