Senator Abdulaziz Yari runs the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council. He says it’s not right to pin the country’s broad insecurity problems entirely on President Bola Tinubu.

He made those remarks Monday in Kebbi State. That’s where he met Governor Nasir Idris, traditional rulers, and other party figures in Birnin Kebbi.

Yari noted that ex-President Muhammadu Buhari had tried as hard as anyone. Yet even a retired general couldn’t wipe out the insecurity completely.

He thanked the governor and the rest of the APC team for the work they’re doing to pull in support. Their combined push, he added, should deliver wins for Tinubu and the party’s other candidates in 2027.

“We are leading the campaign for the President’s re-election and other candidates of our party. We appreciate you for bringing the emirs together under one umbrella at the Emir of Gwandu’s palace.

“If a retired general did his best but could not completely tackle insecurity, what do you expect of President Tinubu, who is not a general? Nevertheless, the President has done his utmost best to address the security challenges confronting the country,” he said.

Yari told Nigerians to consider their own connection to God. In his view, beating insecurity demands effort from everyone, not just officials.

He turned next to the economy. The hardship hitting people isn’t unique to Nigeria, he said. Inflation has already dropped. Fertilizer prices have come down as well.

The Federal Government has started steps to reduce the strain. Cash transfers to vulnerable families are part of it.

Those actions are designed to reinforce the economy and raise living standards.

Yari pointed out that governments everywhere deal with troubles. The United States and Saudi Arabia, for instance, are still trying to sort out issues of their own.

He called on Nigerians to recognize the Tinubu administration’s attempts and back its plans for development.

In his response, Governor Idris described the visit by the PCC delegation as a wel
