Abuja, Nigeria – FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has vehemently denied rumors circulating that he collapsed and was airlifted abroad for medical treatment, dismissing the claims as “satanic” and politically motivated.
Addressing the media during a project inspection in Abuja on Thursday, Wike directly confronted the allegations. “I don’t want to give credence to people who are only interested in spreading rumors,” he stated. “First of all, I am a human being, not a ghost. If someone collapses, it is a human being that collapses, not a ghost.
Unfortunately, I did not collapse.”
Wike emphasized his continued active engagement in his official duties, citing his recent public appearances, including leading Abuja residents to the Presidential Villa and attending the president’s Iftar event. “There was never a time I collapsed. There was never a time anybody took me anywhere for medical attention. People who spread such rumors should focus on reality,” he asserted.
The minister accused his political opponents of fabricating the story to distract from pressing national issues. With a touch of defiance, he added, “I will sign their condolences.”
Wike also expressed satisfaction with the progress of the projects he inspected, assuring that several would be ready for commissioning by May.
